He worked as a psychiatric consultant to the state of California for more than 20 years, then founded the San Francisco Bay Area Psychological Association, now known as the Association for Psychological Type. The organization is now well known as the go-to place for all things Jungian and Myers-Briggs.

    “I was not into that at all, but it turned out to be really helpful,” he said.
