Adric personality type is INTP, and that is fine and dandy. I wouldn't dream of putting on a Betelgeuse costume and going around pretending I was an introverted nancy. But at the same time, it's not likely to be a stretch to say that there are more extroverts than introverts among the larger number of people who attend sci-fi conventions.
I'm not saying that those people are frauds, or that they're all trying to trick the world into thinking they're extroverts so they won't feel like such outcasts, but they're the ones feeling like the outcast. If you're an introvert and you go to a convention, and you're surrounded by extroverts, you're going to feel like you're not supposed to be there, and you're going to feel like all those other extroverts are judging you for not conforming to their ideals.
Adric is a fictional character played by Matthew Waterhouse in the long-running British science fiction television series Doctor Who. He was a young native of the planet Alzarius, which exists in the parallel universe of E-Space. A companion of the Fourth and Fifth Doctors, he was a regular in the programme from 1980 to 1982 and appeared in 11 stories. The name Adric is an anagram derived from Nobel Prize-winning physicist Paul Dirac.
