I'm considered to be well-read, but I don't think I'm quite as well-read as some of my friends, who are just irrational people. My dad says that's because I have a good memory and can retain information. My friends don't!
My friends say that I'm an eccentric, but that's about it. I don't really like being called eccentric. I'm not really very loud. I'm not a very flamboyant person in any way. And yet, I think that's why I'm not considered an eccentric. When something happens to me, people don't think it's out of the ordinary. They think it's just me being me.

In the backstory of the programme, he was the founder of Time Lord society on the planet Gallifrey and its first leader, as Lord High President.
