The Beach Boys personality type is ENFP, which is a variant of the extraverted intuitive function. I have been on a whole “character” journey since my teens, and while I have had a lot of people who have helped me sort through my inner workings, I have had a few people who have helped me sort through my outer workings. One of my most cherished friendships in middle school was with a girl who was the complete opposite of me in every way. We had a unique friendship because we saw the world from different perspectives. She saw the world through the lens of her Catholic faith, while I was a rebellious teen who had no faith in religion. She saw the world from a place of love and understanding, while I saw the world from a place of cynicism and detachment.
In eighth grade, we were forced to sit next to each other in religious class, and we became friends. We had a lot in common, but we had completely different world views. I was a Christian, she was an atheist. She didn’t understand why someone would call themselves a Christian if they did not believe in God, and I didn’t understand why someone would call themselves an atheist if they did not believe in God.
The Beach Boys are an American rock band formed in Hawthorne, California in 1961. The group's original lineup consisted of brothers Brian, Dennis, and Carl Wilson, their cousin Mike Love, and friend Al Jardine. Distinguished by their vocal harmonies, adolescent themes, and musical ingenuity, they are one of the most influential acts of the rock era. They drew on the music of older pop vocal groups, 1950s rock and roll, and black R&B to create their unique sound, and under Brian's direction, often incorporated classical or jazz elements and unconventional recording techniques in innovative ways.
