Uncle Burton Guster personality type is ESTJ, and the only time I saw him act that way was when he was in his late teens. It was the first time I realized that he was a different person than the Uncle Burton I’d grown up with, and he was a fearlessly honest and hardworking man. He’d been hired as a farmhand when my father began to seek advice from Guster, and Burton had become an integral part of the farm for a number of years.
I had never suspected that Burton Guster was anything but a well-meaning man until he took off his shirt and showed me the scars of a lifetime of work. There were a couple of deep gashes on his back, and one huge purple burn on his shoulder, which he explained was the result of a branding iron. “Do you know an iron won’t burn you unless it’s hot?” he asked me.
I nodded. “I’ve heard that in the past,” I said.
“Well, that’s what happened to me.” He didn’t say anything else, but he was obviously bitter about it.
