Amin Maalouf personality type is INTP, but I could be wrong. I definitely think that he is INTP, but I don't know if I can call him an 'autistic' INTP like some others have called him. What I DO know is that he is an INTP.
Anyways, there are many 'autistic' INTP's out there who are the same way, and every autistic INTP that I know is the same way.

I read one of Amin's articles on his site, and I just thought it was interesting. He says that he has discovered the secret to getting the attention of an attractive woman, and it's this:
If you want to get her attention, go somewhere where other girls are, and go up to the one girl who stands out from the other girls, and tell her something about herself. If she is insecure, she will love you for it.
I don't know if this is true, but it sounds kind of like something that an INTP would do.
