Etgar Keret personality type is INTP, with the alternate being ENTP. I think Keret's best feature is his dry sense of humor, which he uses to disarm people. He also has a big heart, but he tends to use it in a very understated way. His intelligence is obvious, yet he doesn't draw attention to it. His main strength is in knowing how to position himself so that he's not the center of attention. For instance, in "My Year Without Sex," he tells the story of his failed attempt at sexual abstinence with a straight face.
"My Year Without Sex" is a story of sexual abstinence that revolves around the protagonist's attempt to go without sex for a year beginning on his 30th birthday. The first few days are easily described, as he gets up and goes to the bathroom, eats breakfast, watches some TV and goes to work. The rest of the year is a struggle for the protagonist and he does have one major crisis in which he almost gives in and sleeps with a woman.
Keret does a great job of describing what it's like to be in this situation. He tries not to be judgmental, which is not easy considering his own situation.
