    INFJ

    INFJ (4w3)

Henry Louis Gates Jr. personality type is INFJ, which is one of the rarest personality types in the world. INFJ is usually labeled as the “Counselor” type.

Infj personalities are known for being very intelligent, sensitive, loyal, caring, and supportive. An INFJ will always be willing to help others in need, often to the point of being overly helpful. This can be a problem for INFJ’s because they are so sensitive that they are easily offended by others’ “offense” to them. INFJ’s are highly aware of these things, but it is difficult for them to ignore other people’s pain.

Unlike the rest of the INFJ spectrum, where the letters are arranged in a circle, INFJ’s are typically arranged in a triangle, with the top letter being the most important one for the type. The letters in an INFJ’s name are therefore often arranged in a triangle shape.

INFJ’s are often labeled as “mothers” or “mentors”, because INFJs are good at relating to others on an emotional level.

Henry Louis "Skip" Gates Jr. (born September 16, 1950) is an American literary critic, teacher, historian, filmmaker and public intellectual who currently serves as the Alphonse Fletcher University Professor and Director of the Hutchins Center for African and African American Research at Harvard University. He discovered what are considered the earliest known literary works of African-American writers, and has published extensively on appreciating African-American literature as part of the Western canon. He has learned through contemporary research that his family is descended in part from the Yoruba people of West Africa. He also has learned that he has 50% European ancestry, including Irish; he was surprised it was that much. This notwithstanding, he grew up in the African-American community and identifies as such. He has learned that he is also connected to the multiracial West Virginia community of Chestnut Ridge people.
