Irvine Welsh personality type is INTP, and thus could be said to be an ISTP.
No one person fits neatly into one particular type. I’m just putting forward the idea that there could be a degree of truth to the idea that there may be certain personality types who are attracted to this type of lifestyle, and that they will find the culture of the NxT lifestyle congenial.
I may be wrong, but it seems there are many individuals who are attracted to the NxT culture, and it’s not just me or those I have mentioned so far. I’m not saying this is the case with all NxT people, but it does seem to be true with some.
I think there’s a strong element of narcissism at work here as well. Those attracted to this lifestyle are often people who have a narcissistic personality, and may not have a lot of self-esteem. Given that they have an inferiority complex, they may have a desire to be “special”, and may believe that they can attain a special status on a forum such as NxT.

His work is characterised by a raw Scots dialect and brutal depiction of Edinburgh life. He has also written plays and screenplays, and directed several short films.
