Thomas Bernhard personality type is INTP, but I have to say that, in his case, it’s not clear what type he is. He’s so introverted and intellectual that it’s hard to tell, but I think he probably has an INTJ or ISTP personality type. He’s so introverted that he doesn’t really notice it himself.
I’ve also seen other people say that he has an ENFP personality type. This is almost certainly true, since he seems to have all the extrovert’s traits. He’s very happy-go-lucky, very energetic, very excited to try new things, but he also has a very strong introvert personality.
Chapter 1: Born in 1943 in Germany
His father was an engineer who worked at the Nazi concentration camp where Bernhard was born. He was born in Würzburg in Southern Germany, around the time of the Allied invasion of Europe, making him one of the oldest children, and he has vivid memories of the war.
He was then moved to a US internment camp for German children, where his mother died of tuberculosis. He spent his teenage years in an orphanage.
Nicolaas Thomas Bernhard (9 February 1931 – 12 February 1989) was an Austrian novelist, playwright and poet. Bernhard's body of work has been called "the most significant literary achievement since World War II." He is widely considered to be one of the most important German-speaking authors of the postwar era.
