    ESTJ (6w5)

Tom Clancy personality type is ESTJ, or Extroverted Sensing Thinking Judging.

Clancy is an INTP, or Introverted Intuitive Thinking Perceiving (See my INTP page for more information on this type). I don't get to talk to him about his life, because he's working on the script right now, but here's what I do know: He works in New York City. He loves the city, but hates the traffic. (He's an INTP, after all.) His favorite comedian is Bill Cosby. He loves old movies. He likes surfing the net. He likes to read. He likes to write, but he doesn't consider himself a good writer. It's something he does to relax.

He's a very quiet person when he's not writing. He will probably never be a "talker," but I think he does have a "voice."

He must have had some kind of childhood trauma to cause him to feel so much anger in his writing, because he writes so many angry movie scripts. I'm not sure if he has one piece of advice to offer in this forum, in particular, but in general, he writes angry characters because he writes angry scripts.

Thomas Leo Clancy Jr. (April 12, 1947 – October 1, 2013) was an American novelist best known for his technically detailed espionage and military-science storylines set during and after the Cold War. Seventeen of his novels were bestsellers, and more than 100 million copies of his books are in print.
