As the two judges are both attorneys and members of the Supreme Court Bar Association, they may have differing views on the proper application of Texas law, but they do seem to share a strong interest and respect for the law. As a result, I would expect that their decisions would be tempered and reasoned, and would probably be well-reasoned, if somewhat conservative. I would also expect their reasoning to be coherent and reasonable, and to include discussion of past cases and other possible sources of law.

In the time since my original post, I have come across a few articles and comments that say the judges have different personality types. I have no basis for making such a claim, and would not recommend anyone doing so. It would be wrong to say one judge has a certain personality type when all the evidence indicates that it is not so. At this point, I do not know what type of personality type the judges have, and therefore I do not know how they will rule on the case. I do not, however, doubt that they will make good decisions.

I’ll post about the outcome of the case in a few months.
