    Parr was born in Brooklyn, New York, to an English actor and a British actor who was a descendant of the Parr family, which included played by Jennifer Grey in the 1985 Disney film. She also has two brothers; one of them is actor Jack Quaid, who is one of the stars of the 2016 film "Lone Survivor". Parr is of English, Irish, Scottish, French, Swiss-German, Welsh, and German descent. Parr began her acting work in theater at the age of sixteen. She studied acting at New York's High School of Performing Arts, graduating in 2010. She continued her education at New York City's HB Studio. Parr graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in May 2013.

    Parr has worked with several organizations. She was a guest lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley's Department of English in Fall 2015. She is also an active member of the SAG-AFTRA union. Parr was cast in her first professional role in 2005, when she was cast as one of the lead actresses in the independent film "Seven Minutes in Heaven".
