Character Creation
You start by making a custom character and picking a race and gender. You get to pick your face and head and body types. You’ll also pick your character’s name, which is important, since it’s the name you’ll use when you talk to other characters.
When you finish, you are given a few choices of customization options for things like your appearance, background, etc. I chose to stick with the default options. You can change things later on in the game, if you wish.
Once that’s over with, you get to pick your class. There are three here: Soldier, Adept, Engineer. The Soldier starts with the most basic weapons, ammo, etc. A good choice for beginners. The Adept starts with more advanced weaponry, along with abilities like hacking. You can choose to be an engineer or not, which is helpful if you want to make some upgrades to your gear in the future.
The final part of your character is social class.
Mass Effect is a science fiction media franchise created by Casey Hudson, Drew Karpyshyn and Preston Watamaniuk. The franchise depicts an alternate universe where humanity and several alien civilizations have colonized the Milky Way galaxy using technology seemingly left behind by an advanced precursor civilization. The franchise originated in a series of video games developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts. Each installment is a third-person shooter with role-playing elements. The first three games form a trilogy in which the player character, Commander Shepard, attempts to save the galaxy from a race of ancient, hibernating machines known as the Reapers. The inaugural video game in the series, Mass Effect, follows Shepard's investigation of Saren Arterius, one of the Reapers' agents. Mass Effect 2 begins two years later and sees Shepard's forces battling the Collectors, an alien race abducting human colonies to facilitate the Reapers' return.
