The INTP personality type was first described by Carl Jung and then revised by Isabel Briggs Myers, who completed her personality type theory in the 1930’s. Myers relied heavily on Jung’s theories of personality and came up with 16 different personality types. Myers also added four extra types that Jung had not included in his original theory. This was Myers’ last revision to her theory because she believed that Jung had already described all 16 types. Myers was correct in this assumption, but Jung had remained unconvinced that Judgment or Feeling were not important functions.
Winfred Philip Lehmann (June 23, 1916 – August 1, 2007) was an American linguist who specialized in historical, Germanic and Indo-European linguistics. He was for many years a professor and head of departments for linguistics at the University of Texas at Austin, and served as president of both the Linguistic Society of America and the Modern Language Association. Lehmann was also a pioneer in machine translation. He lectured a large number of future scholars at Austin, and was the author of several influential works on linguistics.
