Griff personality type is ESFP, but since he’s also INTJ, I don’t think the ESFP is the actual dominant function. ESFP is the auxiliary function, the one that gets expressed in the everyday life of most people. It is, however, the dominant function in ISTP and INFJ.
The two functions that are most active in the MBTI are Fi and Te. Fi is associated with people who are more introverted and Te with people who are more extraverted. So it would be easy for people to think that Asperger’s is caused by an imbalance between the two functions. But my husband is an INTJ and he has Asperger’s, so I think it’s more likely caused by an imbalance between the two functions that are active in that type (Fi and Te).
I agree that Asperger’s is more likely caused by an imbalance between these two functions than by an imbalance in one of the other functions.
