Jane Bennet personality type is ISFJ, right? Eh, not really. The ISFJ personality type is based on the Myers Briggs indicator “The Caregiver”. This is what the Myers Briggs test is all about, isn’t it? It’s about determining your personality characteristics based on accurately observed behaviors and preferences, right? So how does the ISFJ personality type fit into that?
It doesn’t.
You can’t accurately observe behavior, preferences, or even names of people you don’t know (off the top of your head) and accurately determine their Myers Briggs indicator. You can make educated guesses, but I’ve never seen any Myers Briggs assessment that described the ISFJ personality type using observable behavior.
Now, admittedly, I am not a Myers Briggs expert. I am not an official member of this test’s governing body. I think the Myers Briggs system is flawed in that it does not separate its indicators into four distinct groups (introverted, extraverted, sensing, and intuition). It’s really more of a pissing contest among the MBTI developers when it comes to which group an individual fits in with respect to their preferences.
