Atsuko Enomoto (東本 アツ子, Enomoto Atsuko) is the mother to Futaba Sakura. She is the one who took her in after she was adopted by Futaba's parents (who were killed in a car accident) and raised her as her own.
Atsuko pushed her daughter to pursue her dreams of becoming an actress despite Futaba's desire to pursue her dream of becoming a computer game designer. They ended up having a falling out when Futaba was annoyed by Sakura's (and later Atsuko's) constant expectations. She tells her daughter that she will not be able to become an actress if she doesn't do well in school, and that she needs to study hard to fulfill her mother's expectations.
Atsuko Enomoto was diagnosed with cancer. It was the illness that motivated her to take care of Futaba and to push her to be an actress. Although she had many dreams for Futaba, she was not confident that she could become an actress.
