Rumi Miyazawa personality type is INTP, and you can see a bit of it in her designs. In fact, I think the reason she works so well with Ami is that she and Ami have similar preferences for the color purple and some other things. I don't know if you saw it, but the first character design for Ami was based on Ciel Phantomhive! And her second design was based on FGO's Karna, who is actually a romanized name of Rumi's favorite character in Fate/stay night. Some of the other characters are based on her favorite characters in other games as well. I think she really enjoys drawing girls, but she also likes drawing guys, which is why we have a male character designer as well.
I think Ami's personality is still a bit hard to pin down. She has a hard time with people, and tends to be very blunt. She is also very loyal to the people she does like and thinks of as friends, and will not hesitate to go to crazy lengths for them. She is a bit of an over-achiever, and is always working hard to improve herself, much like Ciel Phantomhive is.
