Eric personality type is ENTJ, but I’ll explain that in a bit more detail a little later on.
I was a bit surprised at how much I liked the ‘feel’ of the book. It was a more personal, reflective tone than I had been used to from Hackman. I’ve been a huge admirer of his since reading The Firm, but I’d never really been able to pin down why.
There were a few things that struck me as quite odd, however.
First of all, the book is very short. I’m not entirely sure what he was going for.
Secondly, he seems to have a bit of a problem with women. He talks a lot about the women in his life and he does seem to be a bit of a feminist, but he also has some fairly disturbing sexual fantasies. He talks about his desire for a young, beautiful woman to be his dominant sex partner and him being an ‘old fashioned’ man who likes anal sex. There is even a reference to him wanting to get a tattoo of his wife’s name on his dick, which is pretty creepy.
