If you’re not familiar with Jonathan Frakes, he’s best known for his portrayal of William Riker on Star Trek: The Next Generation, but he’s also been in a number of other significant franchises over the years. He was the voice of Rufus in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (1991) and has appeared on Star Trek: Voyager as Seven of Nine.
But it’s his work on The Next Generation where he really shone. He played the first Klingon Commander in Star Trek history, Worf, and gave life to one of the most beloved characters in the franchise. Riker was described as an “impulsive, idealistic, and charismatic leader,” and Frakes gave him that all over the place. He was always ready to give a damn about something, even when it came at a cost to himself.
