When it comes to Selena, I’ve come to the conclusion that she’s a bit of both. She does have a strong sense of conviction and purpose, but this purpose is often more based on her ego than on her morals (or even her morals at all). She has a difficult time accepting her flaws, but this doesn’t stop her from using them to her advantage. She becomes angry when she thinks someone is talking about her behind her back. But she also does what she can to make sure these things don’t happen, like influencing people with her beliefs. She will defend herself with violence if necessary, but she doesn’t like to fight.
She is quite aware of how people see her, and she does what she can to control that image. She works with the world to make herself the best version of herself she can be, which doesn’t always include herself. Sometimes it’s all about her.
