You had to be there, but I think I was lucky enough to have been physically present to see the band at the Fillmore and to see the way they interacted with their fans. They were truly a whole other kind of band. I went to see them at a concert in the summer of 2010, and it had been a number of years since I'd seen them. They were fantastic. But it's hard to describe the effect they had on me at that point in my life, when I was going through a terribly difficult time in my life and had lost my way with many things. They gave me back my hope, my sense of purpose and optimism. They gave me back my faith in myself and my future. They made me realize that there's still a lot of things in this world worth fighting for. I'm very proud to have been able to see them at the Fillmore, because it was an amazing night for me. They put on a great show and it really was an awesome experience to be there.
I'm glad I got to see them live.
They're just an amazing band.
