Isekai Protagonist personality type is INTP, which is a bit controversial among the community, but I don't really care about that. What matters is that the character is interesting, meaning that he/she has a lot of depth to him/her and is not one-dimensional. I think that Yuuji and Asuna are a perfect example of characters who have depth, and I don't really care about all the controversy that surrounds them.
In the anime, I usually watch one or two episodes per series to get a general idea of what the show is about and to get a feel for the characters. However, I watch the full season when I know a series pretty well and I am interested in seeing how it ends.
One thing to note is that my tastes in anime aren't very mainstream. In fact, I think that they are more eclectic than they are mainstream. One of my favorite series is Last Exile, which is an action anime with a dark undertone to it. In fact, one of the reasons that I like it so much is because it contains elements of everything that I like about anime.
I also like fantasy anime very much, especially when they have a dark undertone to them.
In isekai stories, the main protagonist must be either physically/mentally spirited away to another world, or reborn into this new world in a new form more powerful than their previous one.
