The Nihilist personality type is INTP, while the Hedonist personality type is ENTP. In both cases, this appears to be a matter of degree. Both types are likely to be highly intelligent, and both are likely to be strongly driven by their own interests. The Nihilist tends to be relatively less concerned with material benefits, and the Hedonist tends to have a higher level of self-indulgence.
Yet this doesn't mean that an INTP or ENTP is a Nihilist or Hedonist, respectively. These personalities have many other traits in common, and in certain contexts will behave like each other. For example, both types are very good at picking up new skills in areas that interest them, and both types are capable of taking on projects with little value to anyone else. They also have a similar level of disdain for most things that other people find important.
Yet this is not to say that an INTP or ENTP is incapable of having a strong sense of identity and values, or that they are incapable of being loyal to their friends or the people they care about.
