Character history
Estrella's mother, Blanca, was married to Bob Soto. Her husband was a notorious womanizer, who was often away from home and would leave Blanca to raise their children, such as Estrella. Blanca herself hated her husband, as she felt that he was not a good father. At one point, he ended up falling in love with another woman, named Aurora, who was also married to an American man named Jack. Blanca hated this woman so much that she even tried to kill her, but failed. Bob was arrested and Blanca finally had enough of his cheating ways. She decided to leave him, and moved to America with her children. She then took up a job at a local diner, and made up a different name for herself there, "Doña Blanca."
