Video game manipulation personality type is INTP, so why is it that the most manipulative type is ISTP? I've seen more ISTPs than INTPs manipulate people in video games and the most that I've seen is used in cutscenes.
I think it's because ISTPs are better at it because they are a logical type and they don't get frustrated like INTJs, who are more emotional and are more likely to go off on a rant. ISTPs are more likely to use their creativity and imagination to manipulate people, which is also why they make great writers. INTPs are too logical for that, so they'd just go off on a long rant about the uselessness of the character in question, or about how much of a bad person the character is, or about how the character is supposed to be this great person but is actually a bad person.
So that's why I think ISTPs are better at writing video game stories because they're better at manipulating people. I've seen more of that kind of thing in game stories than I have in other types of stories.
