Barbara Howard personality type is ESTJ, which doesn’t surprise me in the least. Her career, her parenting style, and her values are anything but typical. She was born in the middle of the 20th century and has a lot to teach us about living well in the 21st century, picking up on the best of the past while simultaneously updating and modernizing her parenting style. When I was growing up, my mother had a very traditional approach to marriage, family, and childrearing. Although I’m not entirely sure what made her do it, she was truly a 1970s feminist who saw it as her duty to raise her children as feminist adults.
I wasn’t raised by a feminist or a particularly strong woman, but I’m convinced that my mother’s strong, nurturing personality and our upbringing shaped my own worldview. I’m sure I’m far from perfect, but I believe that I’ve been fortunate to be raised by a woman who was my best friend, my moral compass, and my role model for how to be a strong, compassionate, independent woman.
