Happy personality type is ESTJ, or the “Executive,” as they are known in Myers-Briggs. ESTJs are generally loyal, reliable and confident. They can be task-oriented, practical and methodical. They like to be in control and like a plan of action.
But, sometimes they may not be successful as a team member because they are so driven and goal-oriented, and may not have the patience to learn more about their job. This can make it difficult for them to fulfill the expectations of their managers and co-workers.
For example, when asked to help an understaffed organization by working more hours or to work extra hours on a project or to work on a project that is not their specialty, the ESTJ may become very impatient with those who would expect them to do this. They feel that if their manager is not making their job easier then they do not feel obligated to go the extra mile.
Sometimes this can lead to resentment and feelings of injustice if the ESTJ feels that they are undervalued or are not respected. It can even lead to conflict with co-workers and supervisors because they feel as if they are being treated unfairly.
