Winfred Valdemar personality type is INTP, and is identified by their logic-based approach to problem solving, interest in systems, and originality. There is no doubt that his love for math and physics served him well throughout his career; however, the problem with Winfred is that he didn’t actually use this knowledge to create anything of value. In fact, he was a complete failure as an inventor and failed to create anything that could be commercially viable. If a type is not able to apply that knowledge they hold to practical use they are useless.
I also want to point out that Winfred was incredibly obsessed with the idea of being a great inventor. He almost never saw the work he did as art; he saw it as a means to an end. As such, Winfred was extremely difficult to work with. He could be demanding of his employees and associates, and if they displeased him he would take it out on them somehow. He was completely unrealistic about his abilities, and when confronted with any evidence to the contrary he would twist the facts and refuse to accept any form of criticism.
In the early 1940s, Winfred and his family moved to Doylestown, PA, where he worked in the steel mill.
