August “Auggie” Smith personality type is ESTP, and is also a member of the fictional band Guster. I’m not sure if either of these associations had any influence on the ESFP type, but it is always amusing to look for ways to relate certain personality types to certain things.
According to the MBTI, ESFPs are characterized as “The Entertainer” and “The Performer.” These descriptions are very accurate, but I have to say that I think “The Entertainer” is much more accurate than “The Performer.” The ESFP is very much a self-contained individual who likes to be entertained by and act out what they are feeling and experiencing, but they don’t like to be bothered by the rest of the world while they’re doing it. ESFPs are not like people who enjoy being the center of attention. They would much rather go unnoticed while they’re acting out their feelings and emotions.
One of the characteristics of the ESFP type is that they tend to be sarcastic, but they are also very much the kind of person who likes to be teased and played with.
