Matteo Bassetti (Born in Genoa, 26th October 1970) is a well-known Italian infectious disease specialist and virologist. Bassetti graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1995 with full marks and dignity of the press from the University of Genoa. In 1999 he obtained the Specialization with honors in Infectious Diseases at the same University. Starting from 2019 he is appointed director of the Infectious Diseases Clinic of the San Martino Polyclinic in Genoa. At the same time he became full professor of Infectious Diseases at the University of Genoa.
