Arisugawa has a perfect track record for her work, having never lost a case and with a high success rate. She has been given the nickname "The Joker" by the media for her tendency to make sudden, unexpected, and often violent decisions, even against the advice of her clients. Her tendency to do so does, however, lead to more than one court case where she's still found to have acted reasonably and granted acquittal.
Arisugawa is also prone to slipping up and revealing her true self when she gets angry, which is why her friends call her by her family name instead of her first name: Kōsaka Ruri. She tends to be unwilling to show this side of herself to anyone but her closest friends.
Though she is a highly skilled lawyer, Arisugawa prefers not to use her powers as a lawyer. She also dislikes it when people call her a prosecutor because she thinks that the law has nothing to do with it.
Ryūjin (龍神), which in some traditions is equivalent to Ōwatatsumi, was the tutelary deity of the sea in Japanese mythology. In many versions Ryūjin had the ability to transform into a human shape. Many believed the god had knowledge on medicine and many considered him as the bringer of rain and thunder, Ryūjin is also the patron god (ujigami) of several family groups.
