Noriaki Kakyoin – The main character of Parasyte. He’s a 20-year-old high school student who was raised in an orphanage and is due to inherit his father’s company. He’s a little bit of a loner, but manages to get along with other people quite well. He’s indifferent to the outside world, but he’s actually quite concerned about the outside world and tries to investigate it from time to time. He’s a pretty good guy, and he has a huge appetite for knowledge. He’s also a lot more curious than he lets on. He takes on a parasite – a creature that’s parasitizing his body in order to grow even bigger – in order to survive. He has a very humanlike face, yet he looks like a monster. His personality is somewhat relaxed, yet he has an intelligent side to him as well. His name means “morning sun.”
