Smartphone personality type is INTP, which was the first time we’ve seen a significant shift since Alphabet’s inception.

What does it mean?
INTP is the only personality type to see a significant shift in their numbers on the scale between 2009 and 2017. INTP has been declining in the United States and it looks like there’s a similar trend in other countries as well. In terms of smartphone personality types, they have declined over the last year, but they still make up a significant portion of the market.
What’s next?
The most notable thing here is that INTP is the only personality type to see a significant change on the scale. This could indicate that Google is also shifting their smartphone production to more mundane tasks that are less reliant on personality types. This trend could also be a reactionary shift to other companies shifting their smartphone production to a more utilitarian design.
The majority of smartphone design is likely not changing in any significant way from this point forward, however, so it’s hard to say if this is a long-term trend or just a temporary one caused by the release of new Android phones.
