Shoto Tanaka personality type is INTP, which is the same as my type. But, I was never one to compare myself to others, so I didn't know for sure. I knew that I was different from many of the other students at the school, but I didn't put much thought into it.
That all changed when I read a book by Eysenck called Personality: An Introduction. The book, as you can guess, is all about personality types and what they mean, and what they are like.
The book was released in the 1960s, but even back then it was different than any other books I had read. It was all based on scientific research, and the theories behind Eysenck's findings were actually backed up by science.
For example, Eysenck's theory that ISTP's are more likely to have an IQ of 100 or higher turned out to have some validity. In fact, a study by a psychologist named Joel Best showed that ISTP's actually had the highest IQs of any personality type.
I'm not saying that there were no other studies that showed a higher IQ for ISTP's.
