He is quite hot-blooded and impatient in battle, but he tries very hard not to show it and instead he tries to calm himself down as much as he can. He also has a tendency to come off as blunt when he's angry, which makes him hard to read at times; and he has a tendency to go off on tangents, which can make him hard to follow.
However, underneath all the light-heartedness, Beryl can be quite serious and determined. He's a highly intelligent man and he's also very analytical, but he is rather blunt and doesn't see the point in trying to sugar coat things when they really need to be said. He also seems to be quite confident in his abilities, although in fact he is somewhat lacking in self-confidence.
