Pigeon Toady personality type is INTP, so I can understand why that's what he's doing.
He's a writer and a storyteller. He's a creator and a creator's work is always going to be a work of fiction. It's his choice to make it a story about a pigeon and a toad, but I'm sure he has his reasons for it.
(I don't know about you, but if I were an INTP, I'd agree with him.)
Now, you might also wonder why I'm talking about him at all here. I'm not. I'm just observing that he's his own person. He goes where he wants to go, and his work reflects that. But it's also a work of fiction, so while I can relate to the feeling of being an INTP, I'm not really experiencing it from inside the story.
The only way I could really "be" an INTP is by accessing my own personality type and realizing that that's who I am—not some fictional character. So that's how I see it.
The thing about personality types is that they can be very helpful in identifying what we're like as people.
