Lee Hee-Cheol is a South Korean football manager and former professional footballer. He had previously played for Suwon Samsung Bluewings and FC Seoul and was the head coach of K-League side Gyeongnam FC.
As a player, Lee was primarily a central defender, but he could also play as a right back. He played for the South Korea national team from 1996 to 2000, winning the 1997 Asian Cup and 2000 Asian Cup, and was a member of the squad that won the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
Lee’s professional career as a player began with Suwon Samsung Bluewings in 1996. He later moved to FC Seoul in 2001. He retired from football in 2002. From 2004–06, he worked as a soccer analyst for Korean television station MBC Sports.
In 2006, Lee was named Suwon’s interim head coach and guided them to the K League Championship title, ending a nine-year trophy drought for the club. He then moved to FC Seoul and helped them win the 2007 Korean FA Cup and 2008 Korean Super Cup.
