Lin Muxi personality type is INTP, and is described by a lack of attention to detail. In the August 2000 issue of Chinese Characteristics magazine, it was said that the characteristics of the "perfect Muxi" were those of a child: "a child whose mind is ready to grow". It is also said that it is "not as good as the real one", but "more than enough to fool others who are not as sharp as you".
The Chinese character for "muxi" has a number of possible meanings. The two most common meanings, "crazy" and "idiot", are neither very flattering nor accurate. The etymology of "muxi" is the study of behaviour in relation to its context, and does not speak of a state of mind at all.
This one-character approach to personality, where a single character represents a whole set of characteristics, is not unusual in China. A single character may represent a complex set of thoughts and behaviours, or it may be more analogous to a physical attribute such as height. Some say that the word muxi comes from the character for "mind".
