The biggest reason for becoming a nurse is that I've always loved helping people, and I've always seen the incredible impact that nurses can have on patients, their families, and communities. But I also love the creativity and autonomy that comes with the mental health field.
And although I have always been a night owl, I have also grown to appreciate the social aspect of nursing. This is especially true in the field of psychiatric nursing, which requires the ability to interact with the patient and family members at all hours of the day.
