Phylogeny personality type is INTP, and the first step in my process was to narrow down which of the many possibilities were likely to be true. The next step was to determine what sort of (possibly) misleading information I would need to eliminate from my data. This was the hardest part because I was both excited about this new approach, and also very curious about what I would find. I spent a lot of time examining the component parts of my personality type testing, trying to figure out what I could eliminate with the most confidence.
I used the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) to compare myself to other women of the same age, education, and personality type. The test I used is called the "16PF" test, which is more commonly known as the "Personality Profile" or "Big Five" test. This test is based on a combination of five specific personality traits known as "the big five," along with a brief 16-page questionnaire. This test is not perfect and it is definitely limited by not having a large enough pool from which to draw valid results, but it is worth looking at for these purposes.
In biology, phylogenetics /ˌfaɪloʊdʒəˈnɛtɪks, -lə-/ (from Greek φυλή/φῦλον (phylé/phylon) "tribe, clan, race", and γενετικός (genetikós) "origin, source, birth") is the study of the evolutionary history and relationships among or within groups of organisms. These relationships are determined by phylogenetic inference methods that focus on observed heritable traits, such as DNA sequences, protein amino acid sequences, or morphology. The result of such an analysis is a phylogenetic tree—a diagram containing a hypothesis of relationships that reflects the evolutionary history of a group of organisms.
