dulcet (online persona!) personality type is ESTJ, the “law-and-order” type.
One of the things I like about this is that ESTJ, by far the most represented type on the Myers-Briggs (MBTI), is also one of the most represented types on personality tests in general. I wonder how much of our stereotypes about personality types come from how often you’ll see a particular type on a test.
The Social Functions of the Enneagram
The Enneagram is a typology that divides people into nine types. Each type is associated with a different way of relating to the world. This is the fourth in a series of posts on typology, and it’s a bit long, but you can read it here (we’ll be talking about the Enneagram throughout the rest of this series). Each type has different social roles that they are good at playing and others they are not as good at, so each type has different ways of relating to the world and to other people.
What drew me to this model, in this case, was the idea that each type has a different way of relating to their emotions, and that these ways can be useful for everyone.
