As a child, I was shy and sensitive. It was difficult for me to make friends, but when I did, I’d give them my entire attention. I was never good at sports. I couldn’t make a single basket. My best subjects were art and music. In school, I was bullied a lot, and I often had to hide in the bathroom stalls to avoid being attacked.
I had a lot of physical problems, too. I had asthma attacks every winter, and I had a bad case of eczema. I was a really loud klutz, and I would break things without even noticing. Once, I was riding my bike and hit a curb. My front wheel came off the bike and fell on top of me. I had to get stitches in my chin and my knee was broken.
Eventually, I learned how to deal with all this stuff, and I learned how to become more confident, too.
