Marigold personality type is ENTJ, and I was a stereotypical nerd in high school. (I still am.) I knew I was on the spectrum, but I didn't know what it meant. I knew I hated social situations, but I didn't know why, and I didn't know about all the other problems I had.
It took me a long time to realize that being rare and different isn't a flaw, it's just different. And it's not an ugly thing, but a beautiful thing.
For me, the diagnosis has helped me to realize that there is so much more to life than just me and my story. It's helped me to understand that having a neurological disorder doesn't mean my life isn't worth living. It's helped me to understand that I'm not alone in my struggles, and that there are other people out there who have been through the same things. It's made me stronger.
And it's enabled me to have a newfound appreciation for what I have – my friends, my family, my boyfriend – and made me realize that it doesn't matter who you are or what you look like, as long as you are true to yourself. You can be your own person.
