Parvaneh Eskandari or Parvaneh Forouhar (Persian: پروانه اسکندری، فروهر) (March 20, 1958 - December 22, 1998), born in Tehran, was one of the leaders of the student movement and then the People's Party of Iran and the National Front of Iran. She was the first woman to become a member of the Central Council of the National Front of Iran. Parvaneh Forouhar was the editor-in-chief of the National Front of Iran. In the years 1370-1377, he and his wife Dariush Forouhar had become prominent figures of the transformational opposition in the country. He and his wife were brutally murdered during the serial killings in Iran on the night of December 22, 1998.
Both of the Forouhars were proponents of a democratic and independent Iran and supported the separation of state and religion, they felt that the Islamic Republic led to a concentration of power and made political reform difficult.
