Slaughter was an adult male NightWing who was introduced in Assassin. He was Vengeance's cousin and resided within the NightWing island as a guard until he was killed by Deathbringer. Described by Quickstrike to be unintelligent, Slaughter was lazy, bad-tempered, and mean towards nearly everyone. Morrowseer stated that he would love to practice killing other dragons, and he once bragged about injuring a small dragonet during training class. Deathbringer believed that Slaughter would kill him in an instant if he was ordered to, and Slaughter became eager when Morrowseer mentioned that Slaughter would have the chance to kill Deathbringer.
