Tummelt was born Bernard Tummelt on November 6, 1960 and was raised in a small Estonian village called Lihula. Tummelt grew up with five siblings, his parents were both teachers.
Education
Tummelt attended school through the 7th grade, but did not continue beyond that level. In his youth, he would spend long hours reading, often alone at home and later at the library.
Career
Tummelt began his career as a software engineer, but soon turned to business management after he witnessed the struggles of many young entrepreneurs.
He is a member of the Young Entrepreneurs' Club and has been involved in the creation of various business-related organizations. Tummelt has also served as chairman of the board of several companies, including the Eesti Energia keskuse (“Estonia Energy Complex”) and the GEMS educational software corporation.
