I think my job is a good example of how my ESTP traits are working out. When I first started working here, I thought it was pretty scary. I was a professional, responsible person, and I worked in a hospital. I was responsible for the care of people who are sick, and I could kill them. The thought of that made me deeply uncomfortable. I’m not sure if I could have survived there if I wasn’t so ESTP.
Someone else with an ESTP personality type might have been able to work in the same job without any problems. They would have been much better at it than I am. They might have had more confidence and been more competent as a professional nurse than I was. They might have had less anxiety about being responsible for the care of people who are sick.
So my experience shows that being an ESTP personality type can be a good thing, with some caveats.
Being an ESTP personality type can, in certain situations and with certain contexts, be a bad thing.
