Sid Hammerback personality type is INTP, so he’s the first one to point out that this is a waste of time. I’m inclined to agree with him, but I’m really interested in why he thinks that what we’re doing here isn’t useful to society.
Sid also points out that if we’re not useful, then surely what we’re doing here isn’t fun either.
I knew that argument was coming. And it’s true. But I disagree. It’s not fun, but it is useful.
So what is this for?
So here’s the thing. I studied psychology because I wanted to be able to help people. As a teen, I didn’t know how, or why, or even if I was capable of helping people, but I wanted to do it anyway. And I was right to want to do it. Even if I couldn’t put my finger on what the hell I was doing, it was still helpful.
It didn’t matter that I didn’t know what the heck I was doing.
